A man has been charged with over 30 domestic violence related offences on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
On Tuesday 21 July 2026, officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation after an alleged serious assault of a 20-year-old woman at a gym in Cromer.
Following inquiries, a 40-year-old man was arrested the same day and charged with common assault (DV), and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm etc.
The man appeared before Manly Local Court on Thursday 23 July 2026, where he was formally refused bail, before allegedly escaping lawful custody.
The man was charged and remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, on that same day, the man was charged with an additional 12 offences in relation to alleged historic domestic violence offences against the same woman between December 2025 and July 2026.
These charges include,
- Common assault (DV) (three counts),
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic) (three counts),
- Drive motor vehicle menaces another with intent,
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) (three counts),
- Destroy or damage property (DV), and
- Intentionally choke etc person without consent (DV).
On Saturday 25 July 2026, officers commenced an investigation after reports of alleged historic domestic violence by the 40-year-old man against a 27-year-old woman between 2024 and 2025.
The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice charged with 17 offences including,
- Common assault (DV) (seven counts),
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic) (five counts),
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) (three counts),
- Intentionally choke etc person without consent, and
- Armed with intent commit indictable offence.
He is due to reappear at Manly Local Court on Tuesday 4 August 2026.
