A man has been arrested and charged, following an ongoing investigation into the alleged supply of a commercial quantity of drugs in Helensburgh.
In January 2025, Strike Force Template was established to investigate the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs in Helensburgh, about 35km north of Wollongong.
About 9am today (Friday 19 September 2025), officers attached to Wollongong Police District arrested a 56-year-old man in Cemetery Road, Helensburgh. Police seized two resealable bags of cocaine.
A short time later, officers attached to Wollongong Police District executed two search warrants at a home and storage shed in Helensburgh.
Police seized cocaine, cannabis and a caravan from the home– which police will allege are the proceeds of crime.
Police also seized cannabis, cocaine, MDMA and $89,500 cash from the storage shed.
The 56-year-old man was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with 11 offences – supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to commercial quantity, eight counts of supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity and two counts of deal with the proceeds of crime.
The arrest coincides with a high-visibility policing operation involving the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Wollongong Police District Proactive Crime Team and Southern Region Enforcement Squad in Helensburgh.
The operation continues.
