Man Charged in Northern Suburbs Fuel Thefts

A man has been arrested and charged over thousands of dollars of fuel thefts north of Adelaide.

Police were called to a service station on Angle Vale Road, Angle Vale, at about 10.30am on Thursday 28 May following reports of an attempted make-off without payment.

On arrival, patrols spoke with a man involved in the incident. Further investigations subsequently linked him to a series of make-off without payment offences across the northern suburbs and Adelaide Plains.

Police will allege the man attended multiple service stations in Virginia, Angle Vale and Lower Light between October 2025 and May 2026, where he used a Kenworth prime mover, an Isuzu truck and a Holden sedan, allegedly displaying unassigned number plates, to steal fuel on several occasions, totalling more than $8,000.

The 51-year-old Lewiston man was arrested and charged with multiple counts of making off without payment and various traffic offences. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Friday 29 May.

Following his arrest, police executed a search warrant at the man's Lewiston home, where they allegedly located the vehicles involved in the offending. The vehicles were examined by police.
