Man Charged in Park Orchards Pharmacy Armed Robbery

Manningham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery in Park Orchards yesterday.

It is alleged a man entered a pharmacy on Park Road and unveiled what appeared to be a firearm about 12.40pm.

He allegedly demanded medication, then fled the scene on foot with it along Hopetoun Street.

There were no physical injuries during the incident.

A 40-year-old Croydon South man was arrested at Ringwood yesterday evening, where an imitation firearm was recovered.

He's been charged with armed robbery, possess imitation firearm, theft and going equipped to steal.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 24 May.
