Man charged man charged following Footscray sexual assault

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged sexual assault at Footscray last month, Victoria Police say.

It’s alleged a 17-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man about 5.20pm on 22 February as he was getting off the train at Footscray Railway Station.

A 31-year-old Albion man was arrested this afternoon after he handed himself in at the Richmond Police Station.

He has been charged with sexual assault and bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 22 May.
