Man Charged Over 100 Fake Ticket Sales in Cabramatta

A man will face court charged over an alleged ticketing scam in Sydney's southwest earlier this week.

Just after 5pm on Monday 29 September 2025, police were called to Sussex Street, Cabramatta, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and were told a group of people had gathered at the location attempting to obtain a refund after a number of fraudulent tickets to a music festival were allegedly sold via a social media platform.

A short time later the crowd was dispersed, and police arrested a 20-year-old man at a home on Sussex Street.

He was taken to Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 8 October 2025.
