Man charged over child approaches in Sydney's north-west

A man has been charged following four alleged child approaches in Sydney’s north-west at the weekend, NSW Police say.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred between 12.30pm and 3pm on Saturday 16 July 2016, in streets within Cherrybrook and Normanhurst; girls aged between 12 and 17 were targeted.

Police from The Hills Local Area Command arrested a 42-year-old man shortly after the last alleged incident and took him to Castle Hill Police Station.

Detectives from Ryde Local Area Command attended and charged with man with three offences:

• Commit act of indecency on person under 16 years (two counts)

• Commit act of indecency on person over 16 years.

The man, from Bligh Park, was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Bail Court yesterday.

The man was again refused bail and will be held in custody until his next appearance in Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 20 July 2016.
