A 40-year-old man has been charged in connection with an assault and the theft of a vehicle which occurred a year ago in Hampstead Gardens, according to SA Police.
On 1 March 2016 a man was assaulted in the driveway of a house on North East Rd as he prepared to hook-up a caravan to his Toyota Prado.
A woman who went to his assistance was also assaulted.
The vehicle was stolen by their attacker but was later recovered by police and DNA evidence was recovered.
Yesterday police in Mt Gambier arrested the accused and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault and one of theft of a motor vehicle. He will appear in the Mt Gambier Magistrates Court at a later date.
