Man Charged Over Hydroponic Grow House in Lake Illawarra

A man has been charged following the discovery of a cannabis hydroponic set-up in the Illawarra.

About 1.30pm on (Friday 16 February 2024), officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District executed a search warrant at a home in Flagstaff Road, Warrawong.

Police allegedly uncovered an established hydroponic set up underneath the house, seizing four large cannabis pants, 543 grams of dried cannabis leaf and lighting and equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis plants.

Electronic devices were also seized, for forensic examination.

A 65-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 13 March 2024.
