Man Charged: Property, Knife, Drug Offenses in SW Rocks

A man will face court charged with 14 offences following an investigation by Mid North Coast Police.

About 4.30am on Sunday 2 November 2025, police were called to a home on Entrance Street, South West Rocks, following reports of a malicious damage incident.

At the scene, police were told a man entered the rear yard of the property before allegedly burning items and furniture.

Following inquiries, police established that the man had earlier allegedly used a machete to smash the windscreen of a nearby vehicle, before smashing windows of a home.

Officers conducted a search of the area; however, the man was unable to be located.

About 8.30am today (Friday 7 November 2025), police attended a home on Bannerman Place, South West Rocks, where they arrested a 32-year-old man.

During a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized 0.1g methamphetamine.

He was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with two counts of destroy or damage property, damage property by fire, possess drug (not cannabis leaf/MDMA) not exceed small quantity, and carry knife visible in public place-cause fear for safety.

He was also charged with a further nine offences in relation to earlier alleged incidents,

  • Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
  • Destroy or damage property (less than or equal to $2000)
  • Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse (two counts)
  • Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (two counts)
  • Custody of knife in public place
  • Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and
  • Carry cutting weapon upon apprehension.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Friday 7 November 2025).
