Man Charged With Drug, Weapon Offenses at Lake Macquarie

A man will face court charged following an investigation into alleged cannabis cultivation and supply in the Lake Macquarie area.

On Wednesday 24 September 2025, Lake Macquarie Police – assisted by Northern Region UTAH – attended a home on Delasala Drive, Macquarie Hills, to execute a search warrant.

During a search of the property, police allegedly located numerous hydroponic setups with cannabis plants allegedly scattered throughout several locked bedrooms.

As a result of the search, police allegedly sized a total of 520 cannabis plants, 5.6kg cannabis leaf, two gel-blaster firearms, knuckle dusters, nunchucks, slingshots, and two flick-knives.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Belmont Police Station.

There he was charged with seven offences,

  • Knowingly take part cultivate more than or equal to large commercial quantity cannabis
  • Supply cannabis more than indictable and less than commercial quantity
  • Three counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
  • Two counts of possess unregistered firearm-pistol.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Friday 26 September 2025).
