Man Charged With Drug, Weapons Offenses in Chester Hill

A man has been charged with a number of drug and prohibited weapons offences in Sydney's southwest.

In June 2025, investigators from Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney's southwest.

Following inquiries, about 9.00am today (Tuesday 1 July 2025), police executed a search warrant at a house in Esme Avenue, Chester Hill.

During a search of the house, police seized approximately 15kgs of cannabis ready for supply within 24 large plastic kitchen containers, backpacks and resealable bags, THC infused baked goods, $20,000 in cash, numerous prohibited weapons consisting of a taser, three extended Glock pistol magazines, knives and swords.

A 50-year-old man was arrested by police at the house. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with four offences - supply prohibited drug (cannabis), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, operate drug premise - expose child to drugs and possess prohibited weapon.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested and charged with contravening an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order and breach of bail.

Both were refused bail and will appear before Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 2 July 2025).
