A man will face court, charged with firearms and drug-related offences in the state's New England region this week.
About 9.15am yesterday (Thursday 19 February 2026), officers attached to New England Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Bailey Crescent, Armidale.
A 36-year-old man allegedly physically resisted officers as they attempted to enter the home. He was subsequently arrested and cautioned.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized 2.6 kilograms of dried cannabis, a gel blaster and ammunition, handheld taser, an amount of cocaine, cash, digital scales and other drug-associated items.
The man was taken to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with:
- Supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity,
- Possess prohibited drug,
- Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 and less than $5000,
- Possess unauthorised firearm,
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Armidale Local Court on Monday 30 March 2026.
