Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section have charged a 27-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a crash that occurred in Maylands on Friday, 3 March 2023.
It will be alleged about 11pm, the 27-year-old man was driving a Toyota Hilux utility that collided with a Volkswagen Polo sedan on Guildford Road.
The 71-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen Polo sedan sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash and was conveyed to hospital. She died in hospital on Saturday, 11 March 2023.
It will be further alleged the man was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
The 27-year-old man from Canning Vale has been charged with:
• Manslaughter; and
• Drove a motor vehicle under the influence of Drugs.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Thursday 6 April 2023.
