A man is due in court tomorrow charged with manslaughter after the death of a man in Waterloo last month.
Emergency services were called to a unit in Bourke Street, Waterloo, about 9:30pm on Friday 3 April 2026, due to concerns for the welfare of a man.
On arrival, officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command found a 25-year-old man unresponsive.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death commenced under Strike Force Torsin.
Following extensive inquiries, today (Wednesday 13 May 2026), investigators - with the assistance of the Central Metropolitan Region Operations Support Group (OSG) - executed a search warrant at an address in Maroubra.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with manslaughter.
Police will allege the 29-year-old man was involved in an apparent drug overdose.
The man was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 7 tomorrow (Thursday 14 May 2026).
