Man charged with two acts of indecency at railway stations, NSW

Officers from the Police Transport Command’s Operation Artemis have charged a man, following two alleged acts of indecency at Wolli Creek and Central railway stations, NSW Police say.

About 8.30am on Monday 25 July 2016, a 26-year-old woman was walking along a platform of Central Railway Station when she was allegedly grabbed on the buttocks by a man.

The woman walked away from the man and reported the incident to police who commenced an investigation.

About 7.30am on Friday 24 February 2017, a 29-year-old woman was standing on a platform at Wolli Creek Railway Station when she was also approached by a man who allegedly grabbed her buttocks and ran away.

The woman chased after the man and confronted him, before he fled. The incident was reported to police and an investigation commenced.

About 7.30am today, following investigations by officers from Police Transport Command’s Operation Artemis, a 32-year-old man was arrested at Glenfield Railway Station.

He was taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault with act of indecency.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 1 May 2017.
