Man dies after Ambarvale house fire

A man has died after a house fire at Ambarvale this morning.

About 12.40am (Saturday 31 August 2019), emergency services were called to Lavinia Place, Ambarvale – near Campbelltown – following reports of a house fire.

Officers attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended.

An 80-year-old female was removed from the home and conveyed to Campbelltown Hospital for monitoring.

A 56-year-old male sustained burns to his hands and face and smoke inhalation. He was conveyed to Liverpool hospital.

Shortly after, an elderly man's body was found inside the home.

The home sustained significant structural damage and a crime scene has been established. Once the home has been declared safe, inquiries will begin into the cause of the fire.
