Man Dies After Being Hit By Car At Taree

A man has died after he was struck by a vehicle in the Mid North Coast region.

Emergency services were called to Muldoon Street, Taree shortly after 8pm on Tuesday (22 April 2025), following reports a crash.

Officers attached to Manning-Great lakes Police District attended and found a vehicle had hit pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 41-year-old man was treated at the scene for multiple injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remained.

The driver, a 58-year-old man, was arrested for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and investigations under Crash Investigation Unit commenced into the circumstances of the crash.

This morning (Thursday 24 April 2025), police were notified the man died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
