The Crisafulli Government has backed all recommendations from the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee's (PCCC) five-year review of the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC), delivering on its commitment to strengthen integrity and accountability across the public sector.
On 30 June 2026, the PCCC tabled Report No. 133, Review of the Crime and Corruption Commission's activities to continuously improve the integrity of, and reduce the incidence of corruption in, Queensland's public sector, as part of its oversight functions.
The review examined the CCC's performance over the previous five years, including its jurisdiction, responsibilities, functions and powers. The Committee considered the Commission's governance and statutory functions, including its roles in major crime, corruption, civil confiscation, witness protection, telecommunications interception, police oversight and the broader criminal justice system.
As part of the review, the PCCC considered 31 submissions, 29 of which were published, and held two public hearings.
The Crisafulli Government has accepted or accepted-in-principle all 6 recommendations from the review.
Attorney-General, Minister for Justice and Minister for Integrity Deb Frecklington said restoring integrity, transparency and accountability across Queensland's public sector was a key priority of the Crisafulli Government.
"I welcome the Committee's thorough review and thank the PCCC for its important oversight role," the Attorney-General said.
"The PCCC's five-yearly reviews help ensure the CCC remains fit for purpose and equipped to meet contemporary challenges. By accepting all six recommendations, the Crisafulli Government is supporting a strong, effective and accountable corruption watchdog that Queenslanders can have confidence in.
"I'm pleased to support reforms that strengthen the frameworks and operations of the CCC, as they combat both serious and organised crime and public sector corruption.
"Queenslanders expect integrity, accountability and transparency from public institutions, and the Crisafulli Government will continue to support reforms that strengthen public sector integrity and confidence in our democracy."
