Man dies after collision in Lynbrook

A man has died following a collision in Lynbrook in January.

The collision, on the Western Port Highway on Sunday 2 January, involved five cars about 11am.

Police are investigating one of the car's performed an alleged illegal U-turn at the intersection of Portlink Drive just prior to the collision.

Officers have been told the driver of one of the cars, a 79-year-old Skye man, attended hospital later that same day for treatment.

Sadly, he died in hospital on 13 January.

No other people involved in the collision were injured.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and an investigation is ongoing.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles in the lead up to the incident.
