A male passenger has died following a crash on the state's south.
About 10.30am today (Monday 21 July 2025), police were called to Mount Darragh Road, Mount Darragh, about 50km west of Merimbula, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Emergency services responded to find a car had left the roadway, gone down an embankment and struck a tree.
The front-seat passenger – a man believed to be aged in his 20s – couldn't be revived and died at the scene.
The man, who is believed to be the driver was treated at Bega Hospital for suspected internal injuries before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
He is believed to be aged in his 20s.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Mount Darragh Road is closed in both directions, with traffic diverted to the Snowy Mountains Highway and Imlay Road.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
