Man Dies After Shooting - Lidcombe

A man has died following a shooting in Sydney's west this morning.

Just after 4am (Monday 16 March 2026), emergency services were called to a unit on Shale Street, Lidcombe, following reports of a shooting.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and found a 38-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to a Sydney hospital, where he died a short time later.

A second man at the scene suffered non-life threatening injuries during an assault. He was also taken to hospital.

Police established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
