Man dies in crash, four injured - Hume Highway, near Albury

A man has died, and four people have been injured in a single-vehicle crash near Albury this morning.

Just after 7.30am (Thursday 28 March 2019), emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, at Mullengandra, following reports a car had crashed into a tree and rolled.

The male front seat passenger died at the scene.

Three male passengers were trapped in the vehicle before being freed by emergency services. Two of the passengers have been taken to hospital by ambulance, while a third will be airlifted.

The male driver was taken by ambulance to Albury Base Hospital in a critical condition.

The ages of all involved are not yet known.

Officers from Murray River Police District remain at the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident.
