Man dies in single-vehicle crash at Inverell

A man has died following a single vehicle crash near Inverell this morning.

Emergency services were called to Ashford Road, Inverell about 5.45am (Wednesday 3 February 2021), after a white Holden Commodore utility travelling southbound left the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver – believed to be a man aged in his 40s – died at the scene.

Officers from New England Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ashford Road was closed in both directions with diversions in place while police conducted the investigation.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
