Man extradited from Western Australia over drug and firearm offences

A man will re-appear in court today after being extradited from Western Australia on outstanding warrants.

In 2012, the 35-year-old man was charged with a number of drug and firearm offences.

While on bail, the man travelled to Perth, Western Australia and was arrested by Western Australian police for drug offences.

He was sentenced to seven years in jail in Western Australia, with a non-parole period of five years.

On Monday (26 August 2019), officers from NSW Police travelled to Western Australia and applied for the man's extradition, which was granted on Tuesday (27 August 2019).

About 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 28 August 2019), the man arrived with NSW Police officers in NSW and was taken to Mascot Police Station.

He was charged with outstanding warrants for 31 drug and firearm offences.

He was bail refused to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Thursday 29 August 2019).
