Man faces historic sexual abuse charges at Blue Mountains

A man will face court today in relation to historical sexual abuse offences allegedly committed over 20 years ago in the Blue Mountains.

Last month (September 2019) detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad investigated claims of alleged sexual abuse by a man at a restaurant in Lawson from 1993 to 1996.

On Monday 1 October 2019, a 56-year-old man was arrested at Penrith Police Station and was charged with three counts of assault with act of indecency and aggravated indecent assault – victim under authority of offender.

Police will allege in court that on multiple occasions the man committed indecent acts towards a girl who he employed at the shop.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Friday 25 October 2019).

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
