Man found dead at Tranmere foreshore, public assistance sought

Police are seeking public assistance to identify a man who was located deceased at Tranmere this afternoon.

Around 1.40pm police received a report from a member of the public that they had located the body of a deceased man on the foreshore area at Tranmere Point.

Police have undertaken a number of enquiries this afternoon, but at this stage the deceased man has not been identified.

The man is perceived to be of Sri Lankan, or similar, appearance. He is of slight build and believed to be aged between 18-25. He was wearing black trainers with white soles, black jeans, dark green tshirt with a pink and blue rodeo emblem on the front, and a black puffer jacket. He was not carrying any form of identification.

Medical examinations are being conducted to determine the cause of the man's death. At this stage there is nothing to indicate suspicious circumstances.

Due to the inaccessible area the man was located, police believe he may have fallen into the water at another location.
