A critical incident investigation has been declared after the death of a man in Sydney's north west.
Just after 1pm on Sunday 26 April 2026, police were called to a unit on Meacher Street, Mount Druitt, following reports of a concern for welfare.
The occupant – a 61-year-old man – could not be raised and officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command continued inquiries.
About 7am yesterday (Monday 27 April 2026), emergency services were called to a lookout in the Blue Mountains, following reports that a body had been located at the base of a cliff.
Police attended and recovered the body of a man believed to be that of the Mount Druitt man. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A crime scene was established and a Critical Incident Team from Blue Mountains Police Area Command will lead the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation will be reviewed by the Professional Standards Command and oversighted by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC).
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
