Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a man at Rochester.
Emergency services were called to reports the 71-year-old man was found deceased in floodwaters in the backyard of his High Street property about 9.30am.
Access to the scene was difficult given the surrounding floodwater, however, emergency services have been able to extract the deceased as well as a woman who was unharmed but trapped at the address.
The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined but at this stage it is not being treated as suspicious.
