Man Identified After Serious Assault On Train

A man will face court following a lengthy investigation into an assault in Adelaide last year.

On Thursday 27 November 2025, it will be alleged that a 63-year-old man was assaulted after an altercation with another man on a Gawler bound Adelaide Metro train. The victim was hospitalised with serious head injuries as a result of the incident.

Officers from the Public Transport Safety Section commenced an investigation, recently seeking public assistance to identify the suspect.

Following further enquiries, police attended a Murray Bridge address on Wednesday 11 March and interviewed a 36-year-old man over the alleged assault. He was subsequently reported for assault cause harm, throwing an object in a public transport service and disorderly behaviour.

The man was issued with a six-month transit barring order and will appear in court at a later date.

Police wish to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation.
