Man in court over sexual act on train - Cheltenham

A man will appear in court today charged over an alleged sexual act on a train earlier this month.

About 10.15am on Wednesday 6 August 2020, a 17-year-old female boarded a train at Epping Railway Station, travelling towards Hornsby.

While onboard the train, the female observed a man seated in the same carriage allegedly performing a sexual act.

The female exited the train at Cheltenham Railway Station and reported the incident, with the North Central Transport Action Group commencing an investigation.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 37-year-old man at Central Railway Station just after 12pm yesterday (Monday 17 August 2020).

He was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent.

The Wentworth Point man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Tuesday 18 August 2020).
