Each year we upgrade local roads across Knox to enhance safety, improve access and deliver smoother and more reliable journeys for everyone.
Works are currently underway to reconstruct 470m of Acacia Avenue in Upper Ferntree Gully, which will improve access to nearby homes, businesses and Kings Park's sporting facilities and playground.
Additional upgrades will commence in the coming weeks, including:
- Borg Crescent, Scoresby, from Chagall Court to Carol Street
- Sasses Avenue, Bayswater, from Boronia Road to Kings College Drive North
- Hakea Place, Rowville
Works on these areas are expected to be completed early next year.
Works will include road reconstruction, drainage system improvements, upgraded vehicle and pedestrian crossings and new asphalt surfacing to improve road quality and help prevent potholes. Drainage pits and pipes will also be improved to divert stormwater away from road surfaces to prevent deterioration.
Our team undertakes regular road condition assessments to identify and prioritise streets most in need of renewal, helping to ensure our local road network remains safe and reliable.
Future works for 2027 include Cathies Lane, Wantirna South, from Tandragee Close to High Street Road and Shannon Avenue, Ferntree Gully, from Francis Crescent to Renown Street. More details can be found in the 26/27 Annual Budget Annual budge t page.
