East Jindabyne, Tyrolean Village Trails Update for October 2026

A paved road and gravel trail lead downhill to a new carpark and amenity building, surrounded by eucalypt trees under a bright blue sky

New and upgraded trails across the East Jindabyne and Tyrolean Village shared trail network are almost 100% complete and the new trailhead carpark on Rainbow Drive is now officially open to the public—despite continued damage to uncompacted and under-construction trails before they're ready to use.

As we approach the end of the Jindabyne Shared Trail project, please respect the remaining trail closures, keep clear of construction sites and avoid the roped-off areas around the new carpark until the grass has had a chance to grow in properly.

Final trail works still to come

  • Repairing severe trail damage caused by motorbikes/dirtbikes
  • Building an underpass where the Firetail (expert grade) and Peasants (beginner grade) trails meet to improve user safety
  • Fabrication and installation of new trail signs and markers
  • Minor weather-related repairs
  • Occupation certificate requirements for the new carpark

Additional upcoming works

  • Hatchery Bay Road realignment
  • Construction of Kosciuszko Road pedestrian underpass near the intersection with Gaden Road

Council appreciates the community's support and continued patience as we approach the end of this major project.
