Man in court over sexual act on train - Strathfield

A man will appear in court next month after being charged over allegedly performing a sexual act on a train near Strathfield earlier this week.

Just after 8.15pm on Tuesday 10 November 2020, a 30-year-old woman was sitting on a Western Line train near Strathfield when she noticed a man sitting opposite her.

Police have been told the man allegedly performed a sexual act in front of her.

The woman later alighted from the train and reported the matter to Sydney Trains.

The incident was reported to police and an investigation commenced.

Following inquiries by officers from the Northwest Transport Action Group, a 32-year-old man was arrested at an Ermington home at 4.00pm on Thursday 12 November 2020.

He was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent.

The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 8 December 2020.
