Man in court over stabbing - Plumpton

A man will face court today charged over an alleged stabbing in Sydney's west.

About 10.45pm yesterday (Sunday 25 December 2022), emergency services were called to a residential car park in Parkwood Street, Plumpton, following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command found a 22-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his back.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Following inquiries, investigators arrested a man – also aged 22 – on Powers Road, Plumpton.

A knife was located in a nearby drain and seized to undergo forensic examination.

The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police will allege in court that he was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman before he approached and stabbed the 22-year-old man, who is not known to the pair.

The Plumpton man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Monday 26 December 2022).
