Timaru Police are investigating after a man was seriously injured this morning when he was hit by a car.
Around 4:40am a man was hit by a vehicle on Old North Road between Grants Road and Andrew Street.
The victim is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police are conducting a scene examination and Old North Road remains closed between Grants Road and Andrew Street.
The vehicle that hit the man, likely to have frontal damage, did not stop after the crash.
