Man missing from Bendoc camping ground 15 April

Police Air Wing and canine units have today joined the continuing search for missing New South Wales camper Christopher Fowell in Bendoc.

Approximately 50 searchers comprising local police, Search and Rescue Squad, the Mounted Branch, Bush Search and Rescue Victoria, State Emergency Services, VicForests and the Game Management Authority have been searching in the vicinity of Playgrounds Road and Old Bendoc-Bonang Road since Christopher went missing last week.

The 54-year-old was last seen around a communal campfire at a camping ground on Playground Road, near the intersection of Plantation Track, Bendoc about 11am on Saturday and hasn't been seen since.

Police and family hold concerns for Christopher's welfare as he is not dressed for the extreme overnight weather conditions due to his personal belongings remaining at his campsite.

Christopher has plaster on his right arm and was last seen wearing shorts, no shoes and possibly a wind-breaker.

Investigators have released another image of Christopher in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his whereabouts.

He is described as being 175cm tall, medium build, and has brown hair in dreadlocks.

Anyone who sees Christopher is urged to contact Triple Zero (000).

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Bairnsdale Police Station on 5150 2600.
