Man seriously injured during home invasion in Riverwood

An investigation has commenced after a man was seriously assaulted during a home invasion in Riverwood yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 5.40pm (Monday 5 November 2018), a 48-year-old man was at his home address on Minnesota Avenue when three men forced their way in through the front door, armed with a baseball bat.

The occupant suffered lacerations to his face, a broken nose, a dislocated shoulder and elbow, a fractured arm and lacerations.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.

The three men were seen running from the location and getting into a small white vehicle, similar to a Toyota Corolla, that was waiting in Missouri Place.

Police believe this was a targeted attack.

A crime scene was established at the unit while officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.

Police are calling for anyone who may have information that could assist to contact Campsie Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
