Man To Face Court After Fatal Crash - Central Tilba

A man will face court after a fatal crash that occurred earlier this year.

About 1am on Monday 5 January 2026, emergency services responded to reports that a woman had allegedly been struck by a sedan travelling along Mt Dromedary Trail, Central Tilba.

It will be alleged the 36-year-old woman was on the roadway at the time of the impact.

Police will further allege the sedan then collided with a utility that had rolled onto its side a short time earlier.

In the nearby vicinity of the crash was the driver and a 31-year-old female passenger from the utility.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the three people for minor injuries – and the 36-year-old woman, who had been a passenger in the utility – before they were taken to Moruya Hospital as a precaution.

The 36-year-old woman died a short time later.

The drivers – both men aged 32 – also underwent mandatory testing.

All parties are known to one another.

Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

It will be alleged the sedan was unregistered and the driver of the sedan later returned a positive result to alcohol following a blood analysis.

Following extensive inquiries, the driver of the sedan was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice on Wednesday 1 July 2026 for the offences of:

• Dangerous driving occasioning death-drive under influence,

• Drive vehicle under influence of alcohol,

• Negligent driving (occasioning death),

• Negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), and

• Use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road,

The man's licence was suspended, and he is due to appear at Bega Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 13 October 2026).

The driver of the utility was issued with a Future Court Attendance on Thursday 2 July 2026 for negligent driving. He appeared before Narooma Local Court on Thursday 17 September 2026 where the matter was dealt with.
