Manna Gum Family and Children's Centre temporary closure

Manna Gum Family and Children's Centre in Gisborne has been temporarily closed following a recommendation from the Department of Health after a confirmed case of COVID-19 was identified as having attended the site.

The confirmed case attended the centre on Tuesday 5 October from 8.50am to 12.05pm.

Council's Acting Director Corporate and Community, Gina Lyons said that Council is taking a proactive approach in order to protect the health and wellbeing of the community.

"Following advice from the Department of Health, the centre will remain closed until at least Monday 11 October so that contact tracing and the appropriate cleaning and disinfection can occur.

"We've notified parents and guardians of our kindergarten classes, and are in the process of organising alternative arrangements for maternal and child health services," she said.

For anyone who attended the centre on Tuesday 5 October from 8.50am to 12.05pm, they must stay at home and limit their movements while contract tracing is underway.
