March For Mental Health This Weekend

Members from NT Fire and Emergency Services (NTFES) will join defence personnel and other first responders on Saturday 16 August for a walk around East Point Reserve to raise funds for depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The event is being run by Walking Off The War Within, an initiative which was started by former soldier and NT Fire and Rescue Service (NTFRS) firefighter Nathan Shanahan, who tragically lost his battle with mental illness in 2016.

NTFES supports this important cause and encourages colleagues, family, friends and the Darwin community to join in this Saturday.

Start times are as follows:

7am: 20km and 15km walkers8am: 10km and 5km walkers.

Tickets are free, or you can donate what you can, with proceeds going to a local charitable organisation that works in the field of mental health and suicide prevention.
