Marine search at Sunshine Coast

Water police are continuing to search for a man missing in waters off the Sunshine Coast.

The local man, aged in his forties, failed to return from a fishing trip yesterday. The man had launched the boat at Mooloolaba Boat Ramp on Sunday morning.

He was scheduled to return around 3pm and a search commenced last night after his family raised the alarm.

The man was fishing unaccompanied in waters of Mooloolaba in his Cruise Craft Regal 2000. The boat was located this morning about two nautical miles off Comboyuro Point on the top on Moreton Island.

The man has not been located and a water and aerial search is continuing.
