Masseuse charged over aggravated sexual assault at Gerringong

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged aggravated sexual assault of a woman in the Illawarra.

Last Friday (19 March 2021), officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an investigation after receiving reports a 42-year-old woman had allegedly been sexually assaulted while at a massage parlour in Gerringong.

Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 60-year-old man at a business about 9am yesterday (Sunday 21 March 2021) and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

The man, who is employed as a masseuse, was charged with 19 counts of aggravated sexually touch another person and 11 counts of aggravated sex assault – victim under authority of offender.

It’s alleged the man sexually assaulted the woman on multiple occasions during an appointment.

He was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court today (Monday 22 March 2021).
