Massive Upgrade To Bendigo Community Health Delivered

VIC Premier

Families across Bendigo now have access to state-of-the-art healthcare - with the Allan Labor Government's upgrade of Bendigo Community Health's Eaglehawk campus now complete.

Premier and Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan today officially opened the new and improved facilities, which will provide families with even the care they need, closer to home - and in the best facilities.

The significant $8 million upgrade means that Bendigo Community Health can continue delivering care including mental health, podiatry, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, chronic disease management and children's and family services in modern, fit-for-purpose spaces for generations to come.

The upgraded site features modern rooms for GP appointments, counselling, podiatry, and physiotherapy services, it now also features a fully equipped exercise physiology gym and a community room available for hire.

Bendigo Community Health started in Eaglehawk in 1974 and the site is Bendigo Community Health's primary medical and allied health centre.

Following two years of construction and extensive community consultation - to ensure the upgraded centre meets the needs of community now and into the future - staff and clients started using the contemporary, fit-for-purpose building in August 2025.

The project is the single biggest investment in community health in Bendigo and was delivered by Bendigo Community Health in partnership with Evidence Based Design Architects and builder Franklin & Walsh.

The project was delivered thanks to more than $7.7 million in funding from the Labor Government's Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF). Bendigo Community Health contributed $872,150 towards the project.

The RHIF - now worth $790 million - provides critical funding for rural and regional health services right across Victoria, ensuring communities can continue to receive safe and high-quality care close to home.

As stated by Premier and Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan

"Bendigo Community Health has been a cornerstone of our community since 1974 and we're backing them to continue delivering high-quality care for generations to come."

"This massive refurbishment is making sure more residents can access the care they need in modern, state-of-the-art facilities."

As stated by Minister for Health Infrastructure Melissa Horne

"We're upgrading health services right across Victoria - just like this one here in Eaglehawk, so Victorians who live in regional areas can continue to access high-quality healthcare, close to home."

As stated by Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards

"These new facilities will mean our local healthcare professionals can provide even better care in modern, fit-for-purpose spaces."
