Sought after council leadership position.
The recruitment process for the new CEO for Central Goldfields Shire we are currently undertaking, has been a methodical, measured and comprehensive journey reflecting the importance of selecting the right leader for our organisation and indeed our community.
Spanning over three months, this process is designed to ensure that we identify a candidate with not only the right qualifications but also a strong alignment with our vision, values and needs of the Central Goldfields Shire and the region.
We are thrilled to have received an overwhelming response, with over 20 applications submitted by highly credentialed candidates from both local and further afield. This level of interest is testament to the appeal of our Shire and the opportunities that come with leading an organisation dedicated to serving our community.
Our selection criteria focused on finding a leader with extensive experience in the local government sector, demonstrating a deep understanding of key areas such as community, experience in advocacy at all levels of government, strategic leadership, implementation of strategic vision, operational management, compliance and governance just to name a few fundamentals.
Beyond disciplined skills and Local Government experience, we are placing a strong emphasis on finding someone who is the right fit for our community. A person who shares our passion for the region and is committed to economic development, tourism, housing, land use planning notwithstanding our sustainability into the future.
It is envisaged that will be able to announce our newly appointed Chief Executive Officer by the end of June if not earlier.
