Melbourne DRU drug arrests

Investigators from Melbourne Divisional Response Unit have arrested nine people as part of their ongoing investigation into drug trafficking, Victoria Police say.

Warrants were executed yesterday in Doncaster, Box Hill and Carlton where police seized a large amount of drugs, including methyl amphetamine, prescription medications, and cannabis; a large sum of cash, and drug paraphernalia.

A 25-year-old Box Hill man has been charged with two counts of traffick a drug of dependence, four counts of possess a drug of dependence and four counts of possess schedule 4 poison.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today (2 November).

A 34-year-old Carlton woman was charged with three counts of traffick and four counts of possess a drug of dependence, and possess a schedule 4 poison.

She was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 5 November.

A 23-year-old Carlton man was charged with four counts of possess a drug of dependence and was bailed to Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 19 December.

A 25-year-old Doncaster man was charged with one count of traffick a commercial quantity, two counts of traffick and five counts of possess a drug of dependence, possess a prohibited weapon, deal in the proceeds of crime, and possess a schedule 4 poison.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today (2 November).

A 37-year-old South Bank woman was issued with a drug diversion for possessing methyl amphetamine and cocaine.

A 27-yearold Fitzroy man, 26-year-old Boronia man, 26-year-old Heathmont man were all interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

A 20-year-old Forrest Hill woman was arrested and taken to hospital with a pre-existing medical condition.

She will be interviewed at a later date.
