Mid-Atlantic Fleet Commander Relieved Over Confidence Loss

The commanding officer of Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA), Capt. Paul Choate, was relieved of command Aug. 31, 2023, by Rear Adm. Joseph Hornbuckle, Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC), due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.

Capt. Richard Foster, executive officer of FRCMA, has assumed command. Foster was scheduled to assume command in December. Capt. Choate has been reassigned to COMFRC headquarters.
