Ports Minister Stephen Dawson today announced the successful recipients of the Mid West Ports 2026-27 Community Grants Program at an event held at the Port of Geraldton.
The annual program provides grants of up to $10,000 to support projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for Mid West communities. Funding supports a broad range of initiatives, including community wellbeing programs, youth development, environmental projects, maritime education, Aboriginal engagement, and local events.
This year, more than $110,000 has been awarded to support 13 locally driven projects that will strengthen community connection, participation and resilience across the Mid West.
The 2026-27 program attracted strong interest, with 37 applications received and assessed through a competitive process.
Successful recipients for the 2026-27 program are:
- Desert Blue Connect;
- Disruptive Force;
- Dongara Patchwork Club;
- Geraldton Toy Library;
- Geraldton Women's Shed;
- Kalbarri Development Association;
- Midwest Yellow Ribbon for Life;
- North Midlands Project;
- Ocean Heroes;
- Saltwater Women of the Midwest;
- Spokes Cycle Club;
- Wave Rally World Championships; and
- Yamatji Southern Regional Corporation.
Applications for the Mid West Ports Community Grants Program open early each year, with funding finalised by the end of June to support delivery within the following financial year.
