Midland unit fire - Information sought

Arson Squad detectives are investigating a fire that occurred at a residential unit located on Kay Place in Midland on Friday, 1 February 2019.

Around 1am, unknown offender(s) set fire to items stored under a plastic roof. The fire spread to the laundry and kitchen areas. Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended and extinguished the fire which caused an estimated $50,000 damage.

Several people driving past the unit phoned emergency services to advise them of the fire. Detectives would like to speak with these people and obtain a copy of any dash cam footage they may have.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
