The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today met with Yvette Cooper, the United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, in Oakville, Ontario, ahead of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting held on November 11 and 12, 2025.
Minister Anand welcomed recent progress made under Canada and the United Kingdom's bilateral economic and trade working group and discussed the need to increase trade and investment. To recognize Remembrance Day, the Minister and the Secretary of State reaffirmed the enduring partnership between Canada and the United Kingdom, forged through shared sacrifice and strengthened by our common values and deep historic ties.
Throughout the discussion, Minister Anand underscored the importance of strengthening transatlantic security and outlined Canada's priorities with respect to NATO defence spending.
